Meet Our Staff
G. Ralph Bowers, DVM
Dr. Ralph Bowers, DVM, owner and founder of Hillmount Animal Hospital, received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1978 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced in the Carlisle area for over 25 years.
Dr. Bowers is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association. He has served on the Carlisle YMCA board of directors and as president of the Carlisle YMCA Aquatics Association. Dr. Bowers has participated in the Carlisle Area School District Career Day for the last 25 years. He is active in his church and has served as president and treasurer of church council, and has been a member of the choir for many years.
He and his wife, Teresa, have an adult son and daughter, and share their home with two cats, Pushkin and Sadie. In his free time, when not vocalizing, Dr. Bowers enjoys landscaping and building projects at his home near Carlisle.
Heather K. Henry, VMD
Dr. Henry is a native of Mechanicsburg, Pa. She holds a B.S. degree from Delaware Valley College and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Henry is a member of the AVMA and AABP and was owner of a veterinary practice in the central Pennsylvania area before joining the staff of Hillmount Animal Hospital.
In her youth, Dr. Henry showed horses extensively for over 12 years. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, snowmobiling, and spending time with her husband, Shaun, her one-year-old daughter, Caitlin, her daughter, Lauren, and her two dogs, Kelsy and Willow.
Cindy D, CVT
Cindy has been employed at Hillmount Animal Hospital since 1989. She graduated from Harcum Junior College, in Bryn Mar, Pa., in 1980 with a degree in Animal Technology. She became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 1982.
Cindy and her husband, Jim, were married in 1990, and share their home with a son, Zachary, and a daughter, Emma, and their two dogs and three cats. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, sewing, scrapbooking, swimming, and hiking at local lakes.
Julie K, CVT
Julie has been employed at Hillmount Animal Hospital since August 1999. She received her B.S. degree from Shippensburg University in 1996 and her Veterinary Medical Technology degree from Wilson College in 2003. She attained her Veterinary Technology certification in 2003.
Julie, a life long resident of Cumberland County, shares her home with one dog and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, sewing, and watching sports. She is married and has one daughter.
Alicia T
Alicia is a 2004 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and comes to the Hillmount staff after five years of employment at Country Aire Kennels. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, her two dogs, Cole and Mario, and cats, Faith and Annie. She also has chinchilla and parrotlet.
Lisa K
Lisa most recently held positions as an administrative secretary at Tressler Family Life Services and was a part-time receptionist at a local veterinary hospital. Lisa lives in Dillsburg with her husband, step-daughter, and five cats. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and kickboxing.
Angela Z
Ange and her husband, Zach, share their new home with their two dogs and one cat. She is also employed part-time at Merrick & Fair Performance in Carlisle, and in her free time, assists her father at the Carlisle Car Shows. She also likes to attend rodeos and tractor pulls. In her spare time enjoys cooking and reading.
Lori S
Lori returned to our staff as veterinary assistant in 2007. She completed a two-year program in the Wilson College VMT program. When not spending time at Hillmount Animal Hospital, she resides in Landisburg with her husband, John, three children, two horses, four cats, and Labrador Retriever, Karlee.
Courtney M
Courtney joined our staff in June 2008. She is a graduate of Carlisle High School, where she was a member of the swim team for four years. She was enrolled in the vet tech program at Fairmont State for two years and is now completing her degree at Penn Foster. In her spare time, she enjoys working out at the gym and spending time with her family, friends, and her golden retriever, Maggie, and her mouse, Kalvah.
Elliot B
Elliot joined our staff in early 2004. Elliot was adopted by Erin Bowers through the Furry Friends Network. He had originally planned to matriculate to Ithaca College in upstate New York, but the cold winters and a case of acquired allergies (his housemates, not his) created a need for him to relocate to the Central Pennsylvania area.
Elliot stands ready to meet, greet and serve your every need at Hillmount, as long as it does not interfere with his naptime.
